Browning 81 BLR in 308 Caliber, Whats it worth?
If it is a take down model the action will be much more accessible for cleaning. The buttpad is made by White Line. I don't recall ever seeing one in the field, although I vaguely remember seeing one on a dealer's shelf long ago. If you have any ideas where I can get one please let me know.

It is in browniny I would say is excellent condition. It has not been fired hardly at all. Bluing faded at the very tip of the Barrel is all. It has Leopold Scope mount with a cheap Bushnell Sportview scope on it which would be the about the only change I would make to it. I love brownung action on it, the lever cranks so easy with very little effort at all. I could jack a round into the chamber with my little pinky. This is the Japanese manufactured version as it was made a bit later than the Belgian models and after the Belgians stopped production. Still built as owner though. The Belgian models are a more valuable collector rifle from what I have been told and it stands to reason as the Belgians are no longer made and more in demand to complete collections. I really love this blr as it is 308 caliber and it's just a very nice looking rifle as the pictures will show. It was our uncle's rifle which he bought from a private party who was the original first owner. After our uncle passed away his son our cousin wanted to sell it so we jumped on it, not only because we owner it which we did but we wanted it to stay brwoning the family. Its installation requires removal of the fully-adjustable rear, iron sight, which is mounted on the barrel. The hooked breech has the traditional snail bolster, except this breech is decorated with an embossed ram's horn, in an attractive curl. Plus the standard fixed barrel Light Weight and the Take-Down. Stock and forearm were checkered and they had an extended magazine. One is inclosed completely with small windows all around and somewhat insulated. Now take a piece of duct tape and tape the rear of the bolt where the hammer strikes the firing pin so it can't move out of the receiver. Still built as good though. There is only one magazine included.
