According to AFP, the lawyer for Belgian MEP Marc Talabela admitted on the 15th that the MP did not declare a trip paid for by Qatar. A few days earlier, her colleague Marie Arena had denounced similar "negligence" involving a stay in Qatar while the European Parliament was embroiled in a corruption scandal.

Belgian judicial authorities have charged four people with alleged corruption on behalf of Qatar and demanded that the immunity of Marc Talabella, who is close to former Italian MP Pierre-Antonio Panzeri at the center of the case, be revoked, the report said. €600,000 in cash was seized from Panzeri's home.

Talabela, whose home was also reportedly searched, denied any involvement but admitted to having taken a paid trip through Qatar in February 2020 without reporting to parliament as required current time in Qatar:

"He was invited to a conference. The organizer paid for it," his lawyer told Belgian television RTL. The deadline has passed."

According to reports, Arena also admitted a few days ago that she did not declare the mission to the country paid for by Qatar in May 2022. She blamed the secretariat for "negligence" and said that the "relevant documents are very complicated to fill out."
