Sunday night’s $200,000 Guaranteed attracted 1,014 starters. Emerging victorious from the pack was Belgian player “scrooch025” who claimed the first prize of $42,588.
“I will save some money and use part of it to organize my wedding and honeymoon with my future wife!” the Belgian player said of his prize.
The final two players in the tournament were “scrooch025” and German player Togel Hongkong While the Belgian had the lead throughout most of their 124 hands of heads-up play, the German managed to move ahead towards the end of the battle.
Recalling a key moment from the tournament, “scrooch025” said he made an audacious bluff.
“I had low cards. After the river, 4, 5, 6, Ace, 3 were on the table. I was pushing, pushing the remaining player. Because I knew the other player was a good one, not used to bluffs, I was scared to quit the hand so quickly. Finally the player folded.”
The tournament lasted nearly 13 hours and the final hand seemed almost anti-climactic. The Belgian’s pocket fives were able to hold off any chance of the German’s forming a straight with his QT.
We asked our Belgian winner if he had any advice for other players.
** Analyze the other players quickly, how aggressive they are, how long it takes them to react, their past choices with hand history.
** Don’t concentrate only on the best cards.
** Use a card tracker for the statistics.
** Read a lot: blogs, forums, Facebook.
The Belgian’s poker dreams are to continue to win prestigious tournaments like Titan Poker’s Sunday night $200,000 Guaranteed and eventually play big international live events.
And finally, our Belgian winner’s quote: “Carpe Diem!” Seize the day. With his $200,000 Guaranteed first place finish, our Belgian player certainly seized the day!
