How do I get Minecraft Windows 10 Edition for free! (Mojang News post)

This is a preemptive posting. There is no redeem button on the Mojang account pages right now. I'm guessing it will be available by the time of release.

edit: The redeem button has been activated for me and many others! You can try it out!

Works for me:

What a shame for their support department.

I've reached a redeem button on microsofts account and billing page but it says it has an error. Is there a time limit for redemption for this redemption?

Windows 10 is being rolled out "today"/"tomorrow" depending where you are. I would guess that the button will be out at 12:01 on Wednesday morning Sweden time.

You also won't see a redeem button. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though!

For those who need Windows 10:

Manual installation is now available

Direct Links:

32bit exe

64bit exe

If you have an addon that forces https, you must open it in this case, because the link is just http.

Download the application.

Run it and follow the steps. It will format your USB drive or disk in order to allow you to install.

Start the installer from the drive that you installed it.

It will install automatically and activate.

You can also save an ISO for later but do an update in place first so your key is activated.

I have installed the beta and it is confirmed to be working and is free.

It was delivered to me. It's amazing how optimized the game is. My computer's fans don’t bother to start and the CPU is almost completely idle all the time.

Are there differences in the gameplay?

Yes, it should run great on mobile so you can expect it to be just as good on PC.

It was delivered just now. Singleplayer LOL: 2% CPU and 200mb #NEXTGEN There's a little mouse delay, but it is stunning. I wish we could tweak some additional settings, like AA and Mip-Mapping. Textures become mushy after a distance and the water glare is odd. Apart from that, I'm happy with the port guys.

there is a noticeable mouse delay looking around, otherwise looks great

I've noticed the exact same thing. Mouse acceleration seems strange too.

It's a rough port at this moment. It runs on C++ so it runs super smooth. minecraft survival servers requires some work to make it compatible with the PC players. It currently appears to be a mobile game.

I'm sorry if this seems like a dumb question. But how did you get Windows 10? Did some people install Windows 10 early?
