Keto is only a problem if you're not getting enough nutrients. I have a suggestion for you. Cut out everything with added sugar, and everything made with grains (wheat, corn, rice, barley, quinoa, all of it.) And cut out starchy veggies, like potatoes. Eat all the meat, eggs, veggies and extra fat you want. Fried eggs. Gravy made with butter and cream, no flour.
I have spaghetti bowls... meat, mushrooms, seasoning, spaghetti sauce (read the label, they all have carbs, look for low carb) and cheese on top. Just skip the pasta. I also have taco bowls... everything I love in a taco, but no tortilla.
Some of those kids with epilepsy have problems because they have to limit protein as well as carbs. That's tricky for a kid. You don't have to do that. For starters, you don't even need to count or measure anything. Just pass on sugar, starch and potatoes. Milk has a fair amount of milk sugar in it, so don't go crazy with it. Eat cream, full fat cheese, sour cream, cream cheese.
We can help you with a more restricted keto diet if you need it, but I'm betting this'll do it for you... at least for a long while. If it stops working, come back and we'll help you tighten it up.
BTW, this way of eating is often called "lazy keto." That doesn't mean you're lazy. It just means you're not weight, measuring, and counting everything.
