Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen Breaks Box Office Records in Taiwan

Muse Communication, a film distribution company based in Taiwan, reported that the film Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Ressha-hen, which was released on October 30, broke the box office record in Taiwan. The gross revenue exceeds 117 million new Taiwan dollars (around 423 million yen or 58 billion rupiah), as a result of which the 470,000 tickets have been sold. With this, the film had the highest gross revenue in the first weekend of an animated film ever shot in Taiwan, surpassing Frozen 2 and Kimi no Na wa.

“We never imagined that it would exceed 100 million new Taiwan dollars by the first weekend. We feel honored to be responsible for the distribution of this project and we are confident this film will make history in Taiwan, ”said an official at Muse Communications.

Several cinemas in Taiwan even show the film Demon Slayer: Mugen Train 57 times a day. In addition, the IMAX version will be released in eight theaters in the country on November 6, and the Chinese dubbed version will be shown at the same time in all theaters.

Odex is also Odex advancing the film's release schedule in Indonesia and the Southeast Asian states. The film is set for January (fan screening) and February (general release). However, as previously stated, the schedule is subject to change depending on conditions in each country.

Odex will screen this film at CGV theaters, and they also plan to screen the film in other theaters such as Cinepolis, Platinum, and New Star. The anime opened in Japanese theaters on October 16th and has grossed over 15 Billion Yen (around 2.1 Trillion rupiah), making it one of the highest grossing films in the land of Sakura in just a few weeks.
