Traveling abroad can be very exciting, especially if you are going to a place you have never been before. · Calling card at your hotel - There are countries where taxi drivers cannot understand English; thus showing them the calling card at your hotel is a great way to ensure that you are taken directly to it.

Raincoat - Instead of carrying a bulky umbrella, a raincoat will be most useful when traveling to a country with a tropical climate.

· Comfortable shoes - Traveling involves a lot of walking, so be sure to wear very comfortable shoes when traveling abroad. Painful feet can contribute a lot to how your day goes.

Basic medicine - Try to bring at least three medicines for headaches, fevers, stomach aches and diarrhea. You will taste new cuisines and be exposed to a new environment; therefore, your health and your comfort must be of utmost concern. Do not bring too much medicine as some medicines may not be allowed in some countries.

· Handbag with zipper - You must love your handbag when you are in a strange place. One that has a zipper and is easy to lug around and carry would be an advantage.

· Luggage with clothes - This may be obvious, but is actually an important part of the journey. Check the type of clothing allowed in the country you are visiting and pack the appropriate clothing. Remember to travel light and pack only what you need.

There are also extra things that you may need, such as a book to read while you wait for your flight, and a gadget that plays music everywhere you go. While remembering to travel light, also make sure that you have fun while traveling.
