Also, Halo Infinite multiplayer is confirmed to be to be free-to-play and we saw the official return of The Chopper. Plenty of weapons and armor customization were on show also, and the game was announced as a day one Xbox Game Pass release. 3 announced it’s coming to Steam after being a Google Stadia Exclusive since launch and the new downloadable version will feature all-new content, features, and improvements.

The much-anticipated Halo Infinite multiplayer trailer gave us a great glimpse into what to expect from the new title, as well as give us the release date, which should be around the holidays of 2021. The most mentioned gaming publishers and developers were Ubisoft, Bethesda, Activision (which again wasn’t at the show), Capcom, and Square Enix. The latter was the winner of the E3 award for most anticipated game at the show.

We explored the most significant changes to play – including MUT, Next Gen Stats, and the live service structure – and more in our Madden 22 preview. So far it looks like EA isn't planning on making a big show at E3 as the company has announced it will hold its EA Play Live Showcase on July 22nd. We'll have to wait a bit longer to hopefully see what Dragon Age 4 or Skate 4 will look like.

Wonderlands will also feature a star-studded cast including Will Arnett, Andy Samberg, Wanda Sykes, and Ashly Burch. The Netflix Castlevania series creators announced the series would continue with a new show featuring Richter Belmont, the son of Sypha and Trevor, and Maria Renard in 1792 France caught up in the French revolution. Sam Fisher returns for duty in a new Splinter Cell animated series and we got our first look with a teaser image.

You can opt to play solo or with a team of three friends as you all work to stalk and kill a slew of dangerous, bloodthirsty vampires. Each character comes with their own set of unique abilities, and you all work together to own the night, by way of customizing gear and weapons and jumping into the darkness to save your fellow players. From biomedical engineer Layla to sharpshooter Jacob, you'll need to utilize each member of the group's skills if you want to stave off these vamps. E was, quite possibly, one of the biggest shows we've had in the gaming realm in some time. From Xbox to Nintendo, every company brought their A-game, with plenty of new games to covet and jump into as soon as they hit the shelves. This upcoming action-RPG from developer Neon Giant for Xbox Series X has been on our radar for a little while now.

This was exacerbated by the ESA releasing a schedule with various big-name publishers attending without giving much information about what their presence would entail. When it came time to tune in, viewers were greeted with important panels that may not have been at all what they expected. Although its diversity panel was important, and certainly of interest to industry insiders, the lack of transparency going in let a lot of the public audience down. The most notable factor in the tame E3 this year is because the industry was turned upside down by the COVID-19 pandemic, from which it is still largely recovering. The GDC surveyed over 3,000 game developers earlier this year and 44% of them said that their game was delayed by the pandemic. Some public examples of this have been games likeHalo Infinite, which appeared at the Xbox & Bethesda E3 showcasebut was missing a concrete release date.
