On Boxing Day, Tottenham Hotspur welcomed Chelsea to their newly built stadium in North London hoping to avenge their 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.
Chelsea started the brighter of the two sides and took the lead through Alonso's spectacular strike from just outside the box which beat Lloris at his near post. Tottenham struggled to get a foothold in the game during the first half as Chelsea dominated possession. However, Spurs grew into the game as the half wore on and started to threaten the Chelsea defense.
The second half started with Tottenham on the front foot 💪and they finally broke through when Alli latched onto a loose ball in the box and finished coolly past Kepa. The game was now in the balance. Both teams had chances to grab a winner but good defending and goalkeeping ensured the scores stayed level.
With time running out, a moment of magic from Son decided the game. Receiving the ball just inside the Chelsea half, he shrugged off challenges and accelerated past defenders before calmly slotting past Kepa. The Tottenham fans were sent into ecstasy by Son's moment of brilliance.🙌
Chelsea pushed for an equalizer but Tottenham held on for a big victory. The win moves them closer to the top four while Chelsea drop points in the race for the Premier League title. Both teams will be disappointed to drop points in crucial games over Christmas but this result showed there is little between the two sides when they meet. Despite Tottenham's defensive frailties this season, their dynamism on the counter-attack proved the difference on this occasion. A thrilling London derby was decided by individual quality. - https://mbscore.tv/match/israel-vs-romania-18713042
