THE RECKONING gives details and anectdotal evidence of an abduction from Terry's Dallas home on April 16, 2019 at 5:55 AM. Color photographs of UFOs taken near his home and satellite images of their 1977 campsite at Devild Den State Park in NW Arkansas are also included.
THE RECKONING shares 30 short narratives presented as numbered "Cases" #1 through #30. These are stories distilled from 1,400+ emails submitted by readers of INCIDENT AT DEVILS DEN in the US, South Africa and Australia. Dear Mr. Lovelace,
My late husband Paul and I had an experience in March of 1968. I've never shared this story with anyone other than my sister and Paul's parents. I was a housewife and Paul was a nephrologist (a kidney doctor) who worked in private practice. We had friends in Reno, Nevada and about every month we'd make the drive from Vegas to Reno to share a weekend with friends. We always stopped in a little town called Tonopah about half-way to Reno. We'd stretch a bit, get fuel and have dinner. It was called "The Stagecoach." I believe it's still there. On this night we were three hours later than usual because Paul had been tied up at the hospital. After dinner and fuel we got back on the road about 9:00 PM and headed for Reno. About 10 miles out of town we were surprised to see a new store. It was a Christmas store. I had never before seen a store solely devoted to the holiday. The store appeared to be open as there was brilliant white light pouring out of the windows. The whole structure was draped in Christmas tree lights in assorted colors, some blinking and others not. I asked Paul to pull over. We were both mesmerized. He pulled onto the shoulder directly in front of the store. It sat back from the road a ways and the lights were incredible. It was odd. There was no parking lot! It was just sand and sagebrush. We saw no other cars, but someone was inside because we could see motion and movement through the windows. Paul noted there was no driveway for an entrance. I remarked, "Who would build a store without an egress or a parking lot?" We sat on the shoulder of the highway in front of the store for some minutes until Paul said, "This is a waste of time," and he pulled back onto the road. Because my husband worked so many hour we usual spent time during the drive to just chat and catch up on things. But not this night. This night was very different....

Title: Terry Lovelace reveals here what he ‘held back’ til now! Are you ready??

Review: Mr. Lovelace’s recollection of lifelong encounters with a hybrid being he calls “Betty” are riveting. What is Devils Den: The Reckoning? By his own admission he is no longer ‘holding back’, but telling what he has experienced and remembered, fully. I found out more about the extraordinary relationship he has endured and yes, also cherished, with this diminutive, maternal, yet incredibly potent being, who has never showed any evidence of aging throughout his life! And the reciprocal affection/bond is explored more fully. As if this ‘sequel’ is not enough, Terry has also selected and published thirty additional accounts among hundreds that readers have sent in to him, each now with his brief commentary and reflections. Case #19, Strangers in the Pasture is simply astonishing! Don’t miss it! There is much to ponder in The Reckoning—it brings both uplifting wonder and is deeply disturbing, even frightening! In light of recent world events, many of us are asking just what ‘this place’ is really all about? I’ll close with a question—the second of only two that Betty asked him—both rhetorical in nature: “What does a colony of ants do when it reaches a point beyond self-sufficiency?” His answer leads to a shocking revelation by his hybrid alien companion!

Title: Disappointing

Review: This book starts out well enough, narrating the author's experiences throughout the years, and detailing some others' experiences as told to him. My general feeling about books like this is that I tend to think many people have weird experiences and they're just trying to make sense of things. I believe that THEY believe what they're saying, for the most part.
I figured that was also the case with this author, too, until...he basically blew up his whole narrative about 38% into the Kindle version of his book.
He writes about how a "hybrid" that he either fears or likes - because he contradicts himself on this - tells him the following:
...that there is a "dark side of the moon" (that's not true), and that humans and aliens have been living on the moon, and some IN the moon, for years (seriously? a hollow moon? that's not true either).
...that there are no "leaders of countries", that the entire world is run by a council of some sort that has duped us dumb earthlings into thinking we actually have any sort of say in how our countries work. If this is so, they're doing a damn poor job if it, what with viruses and disasters and wars and income inequality etc. It's a version of the ol' New World Order conspiracy.
...that there are reptilian aliens living underground in the desert (New Mexico maybe?) who conduct cattle mutilations and kill people because they eat animals and humans. And that the US govt knows about it. Gee, if that was true, why doesn't the author raise a huge stink about it, get a group together and expose these bloodthirsty aliens? Doesn't the author care about his fellow humans? Come on, dude!
Those are just 3 examples of "Betty's" wisdom - Betty being some hybrid who is a mentor of sorts, but whose appearance makes him suspicious of Asian women (author's words, not mine)! What a thing to say!
To me, all this conspiracy stuff plus the basic ignorance about the moon makes me discount everything else he's written. I don't know why the author blew his story to smithereens by going off the rails/down the rabbit hole/whatever, but he certainly discredited himself. It's almost as if he couldn't help but push things over the edge and sound like a total...you fill in the blank.
If you read it as fiction it's ok, despite his tendency to skip around (which is a bit distracting). Honestly, I don't even think the author believes any of it.
I spent $4.99 on this, and I'm not particularly pleased with that, but maybe it's a small price to pay to know where to file this author's name in my head, under the subcategory where Greer, Lazar, and other not-so-honest UFO people reside, along with conspiracy theorists and RWNJs.
Can't recommend this book.

Title: Astounding and mysterious cases of UFO and ET contact

Review: In this riveting sequel to his first book "Incident at Devil's Den", Terry Lovelace returns to give the reader more details about his disturbing encounter at a state park in Arkansas in 1977, while on weekend camping with trip with friend and colleague Toby. We learn more about what happened to Toby after the incident and how Air Force denial of the event led him into a downward spiral of despair. Lovelace also goes deeper into his family history and how his cousin also had similar contact experiences as a child. In fact, the title of the book could have been "Devil's Den: Return of the Monkey Men." Readers of the Terry's first book will understand what this means.
What really sets this book apart of any other in this genre is the vast quantity of true reader contact stories that people sent Mr. Lovelace after his first book was published. There are thirty such reader stories here, each one better than the next. We learn of peoples' encounters with ETs and other strange phenomena, stories that you've never heard before because, in general, there is a huge social stigma attached to this subject matter. People of all walks of life are encountering this phenomena and, apparently, are not talking about it. Until now. What's striking here is that many of these witnesses have a hard time believing what they've seen. The UFO phenomenon can apparently take many forms and appear to us in any way wants. Be it a "carnival" approaching children on a farm in Oklahoma who then have 4 hours of missing time; a "Christmas store" on the outskirts of Tonopah, NV that disappears; or a mechanic in South Africa who sees four shiny disks over his friends farm field that leave crop circles behind, where nothing will grow again for a few years. It's as if our world has an alternate history that's never been told before.
If you have any in interest in UFOs and and the reality of ET contact, you'll definitely learn a lot from this book and realize how little we understand about the various types of hidden contact people are experiencing.
