You don't have to be gaslit by somebody "stronger" than you. Most often a "weak" person will gaslight you into believing you are abusing them.

This is gaslighting. They make you believe they aren't lying. And unless you record them they will say you have no proof of anything. Essentially, these kind of people believe (whatever is good for them is the truth). Truly, for them, "truth" is a social construct. "It's true to me", defines their entire personality. And this is the core of narcissism. Often they will play the victim by framing you as the bully or oppressor "forcing" facts onto them which they will insist are just your lies. It won't matter the evidence you provide, they are fully nested into their own manufactured "truths". This cocoon allows them to be sociopaths while claiming to be victims. You can NEVER bring up the past because for them, the past is just as malleable as the present. They can change the past to fit their current narrative. This is often done in the comic book industry when they want to reboot a character and update it. They will simply RETCON the past to force it to conform to the current narrative. RETCON stands for retroactive continuity. These people are lying but to them, they are merely re-framing truth in such a way that keeps them in power all the while they frame you as the oppressor imposing your "fake truth" onto them, no matter what you say you have or provide for evidence.

You can filter these people out by using your camera to record a debate with them. If they are active RETCONing Narcissists, they will run from the camera. Anyone telling the truth will talk straight into the camera because they are confident that they will say the same things in the future as they said in the past and if discrepancies arise they will acknowledge the difference and admit they are wrong. Narcissist Victim Sociopaths however, will subvert any attempt to pin them down to a fixed anchored reality, especially by their own recorded words or actions. Attempting to catch such a person with a recording literally drives them hysterical running from the room or if you have already caught them with a recording -- which they will refuse to watch -- it will shut them down into ego death immobility as you expose them to outsiders. They fear exposure more than anything.

These people will use passive aggression to frame you as a bully. They will use the Purified By Tears Fallacy to absolve themselves of their own sin against you by framing you as the bully. Clearly if somebody is crying, they must be the innocent victim right? That is the Purification By Tears Fallacy at work. Outside observers lose their objective skepticism of who is guilty of what when one party to a conflict is blubbering with tears and the other party isn't. In this sense weakness is seen as virtuous and stoic strength viewed as villainous. It is very similar to the Appeal To Emotion Fallacy with the added element of framing somebody as a bully oppressor. There are strong-side narcissists that are the hero of their own story that use people at stepping-stones and there are weak-side narcissists that are the victim of their own story that are convinced everyone is using them as a stepping-stone. Most liberals are weak-side narcissists that frame their entire existence around the socially constructed abstraction in which they are the forever persecuted victims of a boogeyman oppressor walking all over them. And whatever evil they do is good and noble because they believe they are fighting dragons. Just like the hero narcissists that believe they are fighting dragons. Neither posses authenticity or integrity because neither are self-sacrificing.
