The meeting between Kremlin and US negotiators began with a discussion of US special envoy Steve Witkoff and President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner’s stroll around Moscow on Tuesday.

Asked about the walk by Russian President Vladimir Putin, through an interpreter, Witkoff replied that it was “a beautiful walk” and “a magnificent city.”
Putin praised the local Moscow authorities’ work in recent years to develop the Russian capital.

The meeting is now closed-door: After the initial pleasantries of the meeting, the Kremlin’s broadcast of the meeting turned off, as expected. It won’t be until after the closed-door meeting ends that details emerge regarding what the negotiation teams discussed.
Meanwhile, back in Washington, President Donald Trump’s meeting with members of his Cabinet at the White House is currently underway.
The meeting comes as Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner are in Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin to discuss a possible peace plan to end the war in Ukraine.
