I am starting my 3rd year of psychiatry residency at SUNY Upstate Medical University. I bought your Condensed Psychopharmacology in 2016 and waited each year for the next version and recently bought the 2020 edition. I have recommended it to many friends and colleagues.
I thought I would drop a note to you thanking you for the work. I own Goodman &Gillman's, Stahl books, The APA textbook of Psychopharmacology, and many other texts. I have to say that I just really enjoy your book and find it a real gem in daily use. I have learned more from it than from my large, cumbersome texts.
(As a side note, I thought the sections on Substance Use, Chapters 36-39 were so good that I have taken my new 2020 edition, and had it unbound at Fedex. I had those substance use chapters put in the back and had them rebind it with a Spiral binding).
As I interact with medical students and new residents, I will continue to recommend your work.

Review: There is compact, then there is compact that you can't even read with glasses. Too much information for a small space, not organized well...making it impractical. I sent it back for a refund. Kaplan & Sadock's Pocket Handbook of Psychiatric Drug Treatment is small but readable and well organized.

Review: I will be honest, the exterior of this text looks like something I would see on a mail flyer for a used car dealership. This is definitely not a book to be judged by it's cover though. Every page is slam packed with salient and well organized information. I have Stahl, Saddock, Mass Gen, etc. and none of them compare to the utility of this text. Review: Maybe the book is good, someone recommended to me, but the way it is printed did not allow me to actually grade it well. I can not read it. It is too crummy, too small, too disorganized. Too bad seems that information is good.

Review: I loved the 2016 book. It is my main reference in my clinic. I was looking forward to this 2020 version but what a disappointment to not find the substance use disorder chapter in this new version! and the opioid comparison chart, all gone! What happened to the old chapter 36, 37, 38 and 39?
