On my local build, when I open the page that has the crystal reports viewer - everything loads and looks fine (the crystal reports viewer actually shows up on the page). when I copied this over to the server for the web (and installed the CR framework for the correct version) - the crystal reports viewer does not load when opening the page, so I just get a blank page that says done with nothing loaded. Has anyone else ran into this issue?
Crystal Reports redistributable package is installing the report view files on a location different than where the Visual Studio 2010 Crystal Report control expects it to be, thus, the report was not getting rendered. I saw this issue upon looking at the HTML output and experimented with copying the "viewer" files where the control expects them to be. After doing this, it started to work.

The most cost effective method for letting users run reports on demand is to install a third-party client-based viewer. And I am amazed at how many Crystal Reports users are completely unaware that these are available, despite the fact that they are offered by a dozen different vendors.
Crystal Corral by Groff Automation:
In 2003 Kevin Groff needed to automate his reports and decided to try his hand at programming. The result has morphed over the years into the Crystal Corral viewer and the Crystal Delivery scheduler (reviewed with the Desktop Schedulers). The viewer has since been released as freeware, and you can donate to help cover the costs of hosting the files. Kevin has handed this project off to others who maintain the site.
CR Dispatch by APB Reports:
CR Dispatch takes a different approach to viewing your reports, since it has a minimal user interface that only appears the first time you run a report. After that it provides a secure way to run a specific RPT with one click. The first time you run the viewer it asks you to select an RPT file. It then creates a config file that stores the report name and (optionally) the credentials used. The next time you run the application it silently runs that same report with the same credentials. This means that you need an instance of the application and config file for each report you want to run. Usually these three files are stored together in one folder, with separate folders for each RPT file.
ViewerFX by Origin Software:
ViewerFX covers all the basics and adds support for dynamic/cascading parameters in v11. It can deliver reports to both FTP and Email. It also allows the user to change the selection formula at runtime from within the viewer.
ViewerFX maintains a database of historical instances so you can go back and look at the reports that were previously run. There are several screen shots of the application on their website which give you an idea of how this works.
I am wondering if there is a CR viewer available for 64-bit OS as we been using npviewer.exe for the past 6-7 years without any problem and now I have new Terminal Server which has 64-bit Win 2008 R2 and npviewer does not work.
I also have a Viewer for 2008 but I think that is 32-bit too while I do see many many discussions about 64-bit but can't find any clue about what is the outcome. Do we have and don't.
Please Help
Check out this link for Crystal Report viewers. Don't know if any are 64-bit or not, since I don't use any of them (I have a home-grown method of displaying my CR reports). There are quite a few listed in the comparison matrix but it does not indicate if a 64-bit version exists for them.
I write a small ASP.NET application in Visual Studio (for each report) and use the Crystal Report Viewer control. The applications allow the user to enter the parameters and then I use the object model of the viewer to assign them to the report and then open the report in the browser page.
Manage and organize your Crystal Reports in a logical and efficient manner. Add all of your reports to the library and then create playlists to allow you to group common reports and either run individually or add a group. Preset parameters to speed up processing. Crystal Reports License is not required to run this application. You can view the reports in a window within the application or create reports in your chosen export format.
I really wanted to run a Crystal Report from Xojo on my Mac and/or Windows and one that I could change parameters on the fly. Without the SAP Crystal Server / BO products it seemed like a dead end.
You can get the the Crystal report viewer, but the report has to CONTAIN the data in order to use it. Not very helpful.
I used Easy View3 and called it with command line parameters. This worked fine till users started using 64 bit Windows. Easy View does not work in 64 bit environment and I have to find another CR viewer.
The Crystal Reports viewer controls are used to view report files in Visual Studio Web and Windows applications. They are .NET controls that encapsulate display information within the control itself on the Web or Windows form.
The report viewers also provide an entry point to the SDK, by exposing an object model with limited report interaction. To learn more about the viewer controls see, see How Do I Use Report Viewer Controls?.
The CData ADO.NET Provider for Couchbase is fully integrated into the SAP Crystal Reports for Visual Studio development environment. You can employ standard ADO.NET components to construct reports, much like you would with SQL Server, but with the added advantage of real-time connectivity to Couchbase. This article will guide you through the essential three steps to incorporate Couchbase data into a report that refreshes upon opening.
When you configure the connection, you may also want to set the Max Rows connection property. This will limit the number of rows returned, which is especially helpful for improving performance when designing reports and visualizations.
