The animation was created by the famous British artist and filmmaker, Ian Emes, who is known for both his creative animation prior to Pink Floyd as well as being the original animator for the band. Titled "French Windows", the psychedelic animation was created in 1972 and broadcasted on The Grey Whistle Test, an influential UK TV music programme. Keyboardist Rick Wright saw the broadcast and immediately contacted Emes, which led to a very long-standing working relationship between Emes and Pink Floyd.
