The way you explain how to install java mods, is wrong. the reason is because when you place the java mod file into the mod folder, it will just function as a basic mod until a different one in another area of the ".minecraft" folder is used. Here is what I mean:

1. Copy/cut the jar files however, don't paste them yet. Open the versions folder and create a new folder, however you'd like to call it 3. Copy the jar file into the folder you just created. Copy the jar file to the folder again and this time with a new name. Open the jar file with notepad. Tlauncher Copy all the text and then exit the file. Copy the file and delete it. Create a new file (most likely an txt file) and name it exactly as the jar file is named 8. Once you have it exactly written as the jar file and saved with the name as a .json file 9. Open the json file in Notpad and copy the next 10. Start the launcher , and then select the mod you would like to "made."

10,5. If this doesn't work Follow these steps: Open the versions folder and select a folder you don't need (if the mod is using 1.7.10 then you must locate a folder that runs the 1.7.10 Minecraft version 12. Copy the jar file to the folder you have selected. Change the name to match the JSON file. Start the launcher and choose the version you want to use.

If you are unable to locate the folder you're looking for, go back to the version folder and look for it after the last edited folder and rename it to whatever you like. I suggest that you change the name of the folder's files to exactly the same name as the folder.
