Students have the chance to enhance their methods and skills for translating texts from Korean into English in this subject, which also looks at topics related to the practice and activity of translation. The curriculum blends critical evaluations of context, techniques, and methods, as well as their sociopolitical and cultural ramifications, with hands-on translation tasks. The module convenor will introduce current issues and important translation ideas through weekly lectures. Several text types (literary, academic, media, technical, and commercial, etc.) in Korean will be given to students to translate into English and present in class. The casual presentations will serve as the starting point for group discussions on translation methodology and technique as well as for the exchange of useful criticism.
Students can increase their understanding of Korean grammatical structures, textual styles, vocabulary, idioms, and expressions by diligently preparing assignments and actively participating in seminars.
This course is meant to help BA Korean students improve their reading, analyzing, and translating abilities by working in conjunction with other language use courses. To follow the program content, students must have advanced language skills in Korean, nevertheless (see Prerequisites).

There is no established curriculum for this module, however the teacher will provide a list of readings and subjects at the start of the module each year. The practice of translation will be combined with critical examinations of context, strategy, and method, as well as their sociopolitical and cultural ramifications. Students will be introduced to various issues and ideas in the seminars, present their translation work and methodology, participate in hands-on activities, and have group debates on important subjects.

Les étudiants ont la possibilité d'améliorer leurs méthodes et leurs compétences en matière de traduction de textes du coréen vers l'anglais dans cette matière, qui aborde également des sujets liés à la pratique et à l'activité de la traduction. Le programme mêle des évaluations critiques du contexte, des techniques et des méthodes, ainsi que de leurs ramifications sociopolitiques et culturelles, à des travaux pratiques de traduction. Le responsable du module présentera les questions d'actualité et les idées importantes en matière de traduction lors de conférences hebdomadaires. Plusieurs types de textes (littéraires, académiques, médiatiques, techniques et commerciaux, etc.) en coréen seront donnés aux étudiants pour qu'ils les traduisent en anglais et les présentent en classe. Les présentations occasionnelles serviront de point de départ à des discussions de groupe sur la méthodologie et la technique de traduction ainsi qu'à l'échange de critiques utiles.
Les étudiants peuvent améliorer leur compréhension des structures grammaticales, des styles textuels, du vocabulaire, des idiomes et des expressions coréennes en préparant assidûment leurs travaux et en participant activement aux séminaires.
