About the Author
Deborah Phillips has been teaching English for over twenty-five years with an emphasis on test preparation and academic skills preparation. She has led seminars and participated in conferences on test preparation and English language teaching in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, France, Spain, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. She currently teaches courses for the certification of teachers in English as a second language at the University of California. Ms. Phillips is the author of the Longman Preparation Course for the TOEFL(R) Test series of textbooks and CD-ROMs. She is currently working on new textbooks and CD-ROMs to prepare students for the latest version of the TOEFL(R) test.

Review: You need this CDs for study with the book. I first bought the book because I was attending classes that wanted it and I didn't know about the CDs. I think that there are better options for prepare yourself for the TOEFL exam. This one is kind of expensive. Overall I wouldn't reccomended but I giving 3 stars because they give you some useful tips.They could give you a better price for book+cds, they are making money ( I know thats the goal but..anyways) selling the book with a cd Plus Other CDs that you need for really complete all the material. Then you need to be well self motivated because it is boring for doing by your own. The cd that come with the book is only some exercises.

Review: The "Longman Preparation Course for the TOEFL iBT 2nd edition" is a very useful book for the teacher preparing students for the TOEFL exam. It takes students gradually from the early stages of their TOEFL preparation and helps them make fast progress by offering simple, practical advice that is easy to follow. It also offers a wealth of practice material for each skill as well as review exercises that help students consolidate what they 've learnt. The CD ROM offers practice which is different from that in the book and the audio CDs are an integral part of the course. In short, I recommend the book both to students and to teachers as I have enjoyed using it in the classroom and the feedback I get from my students is very positive.
