Machine Learning and Big Data Analysis Group The Big Data, Texture Analysis and Machine Learning Research Group is an interdisciplinary research team in the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland. The group forms a cohesive center for faculty members, postdoctoral fellows, research staff, and medical students to pursue teaching and research in the broad field of big data, texture analysis and machine learning. Die klinische Magnetresonanz-Tomographie beruht auf der Spinanregung der Wasserstoffkern, da diese im menschlichen Körper in grosser Zahl vorhanden sind. Durch die Relaxationseigenschaften, welche die Rückkehr der angeregten Kerne in den Gleichgewichtszustand beschreiben, können die klassischen morphologischen T1-, T2-, und Protonendichte-Kontraste erzeugt werden. Neben diesen morphologischen Techniken, erlauben neuere fortgeschrittene Magnetresonanz-Techniken eine zusätzliche Beschreibung der funktionellen Eigenschaften der Gewebe, wie etwa der Gewebeperfusion und -oxygenierung oder der Zellularität von Tumoren. Viele dieser neuen Techniken sind signalschwach und profitieren damit von höheren statischen Magnetfeldern, jedoch birgt der Übergang zu hohen Feldstärken zahlreiche Probleme, wie etwa zunehmende Inhomogenität des Hintergrundfeldes B0-Feld und des eingestrahlten elektromagnetischen Feldes B1-Feld.
