And I have it connected as your diagram shows.. I don't have any gains turned up or anything i just would like to be able to adjust it and turn the volume up higher. I have a pair of Kenwood KFC-W2513PS SVC 4 ohm subwoofers that are 300 watts RMS and a pair of Kenwood KAC-M3001 mono amplifiers rated at 200 watts 4 ohm and 300 watts 2 ohm. But I took my amp back and got a new one because I just bought that amp brand new from the store I did nothing wrong to it so they sold me garbage, I got the same amp again I'm taking it to a place to get professionally installed.

Just to confirm, I linked DVC together per the diagram but instead of the direct connection between subs each side of the box is hooked into the speaker terminals on the amp. Is this logic correct?

I prefer dual 4 ohm subs tho, cuz i always buy subs in pairs so that i can get a 1 ohm load to my amp when i combine them. It is pretty much stripped out for weight reasons. Im more interested in it for performance reasons than luxury. Just a stock ford stereo with some 6x9's in back and some 3 inch speakers in the dash to drown out the open headers. I put things like the nicer stereos and other luxury items in my crown victoria. The cone down inside the speaker ripped completely off the face of the woofer. It didnt trip out the relay or blow any fuses. Its 2 ohm compatable. Ohms are the level of resistance to electrical current. I went with a simple setup. Most people think I have 2 12s in the truck, and they dont believe me when I say its one 10.

Not knowing exactly what amplifier or subwoofers you have make it north to give advice on how to wire them together. In the diagram, the voice coils of each sub are wired together in series, and the three subs are wired together in parallel. I have a Zapco ST-5X 5-channel amp with the sub channel rated at 240watts RMS at 4ohm. If we do this to a difference voice coil 4 ohm subwoofer, the impedance will be 8 ohms. That will throw off the reading. No distortion what so ever, I'm just worried about under powering the subs I'm thinking about getting.
