That's right the fittest amongst us do not have to battle freezing temperatures, or burning sun when they workout, they simply stroll over to their piece of indoor exercise equipment. I think this is an important factor for those trying to lose weight, as not only can you be put off easily by outdoor factors, such as the weather and the embarrassment of jogging, or working out in front of others, but you may not want the ongoing expense of a gym membership.

Gyms can be a great way to lose weight, but for some people the idea of using the treadmill next to groaning, red faced, muscle bound men is not appealing. This sounds gross, but there is also the issue of sweat splashing onto you from other people (it's happened to me!) and the feeling that you are the only overweight one amongst all the toned gym bunnies. I guess people who have a piece of gym equipment at home also do not have to worry about getting to and from the gym, so I can see how it would benefit them.

There are many types of home gym equipment you could invest in, from rowing machines to elliptical trainers. I would recommend a good folding treadmill, along with a few dumbbells, or a kettle bell for some basic weights workouts. The cost of these may seem a lot, but it is far less than a year's gym membership.

I thought that you could become a bit obsessive and even unmotivated by weighing yourself every day, but the survey says I was wrong. I have since tried weighing myself every day and I find that it is a good way to force myself to evaluate how much effort I am putting into my weight loss goals daily and to monitor my calorie intake.
