"Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" Reaches 4.8 Trillion in Revenue Worldwide

Years after Caesar's reign, a young ape goes on a journey that makes him question what he has been taught about the past.

This makes him hesitant in determining future choices for apes and humans. All of this is told in the film directed by Wes Ball, entitled “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes.

At the recent premiere of the film "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes" in Los Angeles, actors Owen Teague who played the young ape named Noa, Freya Allan, who played the young woman named Mae, and Kevin Durand who played the character Proximus Caesar , briefly discussed the challenges of acting using performance capture technology or technology that can capture the movements and facial expressions of actors.

Owen Teague said that most of the challenges he faced in making this film were logistical. However, this does not affect or change the way he plays the character he plays.

"This technology doesn't really change anything other than the fact that, often you have to take the camera off your face, because you have to get close to someone or, you can't get close to someone because you have to keep the camera on your face," Owen Teague told Associated Press.

"So there are logistical things like that that you have to think about. Apart from that, of course when you know when to go to the bathroom," he added.

Initially, actor Kevin Durand thought that this technology would make him feel restricted. However, it turns out, he can escape in his imagination and become a completely different creature.

"We studied the anatomical differences between humans and a species of ape, the bonobo. The ribs and hips are very close together. And you just learn about how to move like an ape. And then suddenly the sound of the ape that I play just appeared," explained Kevin Durant.

"I felt I could change him and get into the character he was playing. After that I returned to the real human world. I think it was even more fun being a monkey," he added.

However, for Freya Allan, who plays a human, it was difficult for her to ignore the technology installed on her co-star and focus on her own character.

"I had to remember his eye lines and all the technical elements involved, then concentrate on what I felt. It was a difficult task. It was like going back to his childhood, where he had to imagine.

Director Wes Ball briefly made headlines when he announced that he planned to release a raw version of the film, showing original footage of the actors without added visual effects.

"I don't think people understand the level of artistry that goes into making these films. Overall, these films feature a lot of visual effects. Then there are also a lot of things in the production that they put together that people, especially the fans, think would love it," Wes Ball said.

Owen Teague was very supportive when he heard of the plan.

"This will be informative information for many people. They will understand the process of making this film, as well as (the story behind) the appearance of the monkeys," he said.

Kathryn Newton, who was also at the red carpet event to support Kevin Durand, her co-star in the film "Abigail," said she was very impressed with the effects. He even hopes to play in this film.
