SRH has stayed away from big names and focussed on investing in fast-bowlers in the mega auction including Thangarasu Natarajan, Bhuveshwar Kumar, and Kartik Tyagi.
As expected, they've chosen to invest in local talent and there are plenty of new Indian players. They retained Kane Williamson for INR 14 cr, Umran Malik for INR 4 cr, and Abdul Samad for INR4 crore before the auction. Abdul Samad is a new player but is still unproven at the professional level. Despite his speed gun performance during the last season, Mallik's performance was unremarkable.

SRH Strength:
If the youngest age average of the side is considered, this team could be considered the youngest side in IPL 2022. Punjab Kings stars Nicholas Pooran and Aidan Markram were both picked up by this side in the auction. They have a good track record in the IPL and added some key players to their batting. SRH has Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan, Marco Jansen. These additions will give them more teeth in the bowling and batting attack.
SRH Weakness:
Their players are inexperienced, having only appeared in just a few IPL matches. As a result, their veteran batters will be called upon to perform well. Hence, batting stalwarts like Markram, Williamson, and Pooran will be tasked with the majority of the responsibility. They also don't have a top-tier replacement on the team for Bhuvneshwar, Natarajan, or Kartik Tyagi.
